About the roles
About Program Associates (PAs)
Program Associates (PAs) are here to support first-year Honors students both academically and socially during the fall semester. They will attend a CORE-106 Complex Problems course with you and help lead the associated HNRS-150 Experiential Learning lab. In addition, they will hold weekly office hours, plan co-curricular and social activities, and act as the bridge between the classroom and the living environment.
About Teaching Assistants (TAs)
The Teaching Assistant (TA) is a student staff member in the AU Honors Program. The TA fulfills a vital role by helping Honors students synthesize learning experiences from both inside and outside of the classroom. The primary function of the TA is to work with both the Honors Theories of Inquiry faculty and students to facilitate integrated learning experiences in the classroom. Duties may include, but are not limited to: communicating information to students on behalf of the faculty and the AU Honors office, holding office hours, securing room space, arranging technology to meet the needs of the professor and/or students, and assisting the AU Honors Program staff with Admissions recruitment events.
