Bio: Cate Brewer (she/her) holds a BA in Theatre from Washington University in St. Louis and an MFA in Theatre Pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University. Cate joined the First-Year Advising team in May of 2023. Prior to coming to AU Cate was a Senior Lecturer in Theatre at the University of Mary Washington where she served as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Theatre and Dance since 2010. In addition to teaching, Cate also served as an advisor and a Faculty Fellow in the Office of Academic Services. It was through her experience teaching and advising in the First-Year Seminar program that she developed a love of working with first-year students and helping them to navigate, to adapt, and ultimately to succeed in their transition to college.
