Search for Love—and Find Free Prizes
Roses are red, violets are blue, this week’s AU Now has a special Valentine’s Day challenge for you.
Playing the game is simple, we hope you’ll soon see. Track down hearts hidden in Bender Library starting at 1 p.m. February 13 and you’ll win a prize—for free!
If your hunt is fruitful, taking home campus treasures is in store. From free drinks at the Bridge to AU gear to self-care items galore. The only rule is to stop your search at one—that way we can spread the love and let others join the fun.
We know you can find all 14 hearts because AU students are smart. But we’re sharing some clues below to give you a head start.
- This hint is important: All hearts are hidden in plain sight. That means no need to scatter books—and please leave all furniture upright.
- Don’t search the second floor, there you won’t have any luck. But good fortune awaits in this collection, where you can find recipes, like how to make roast duck.
- This next entertaining spot was chosen quite thoughtfully. Here, along with another heart, a crew can help you access classic boardgames like Catan and Monopoly.
- This lab for digital research support opened in the fall. Step inside, and you’ll find a symbol of love somewhere on the wall.
- Maybe your own research has been displayed here before. But to check if a heart is there too, you’ll need to search the bottom floor.
- This area can be found beyond where you can print your lab report. But if you haven’t reached its Button makers and sewing machines yet, you’ll likely come up short.
- If you’ve looked in all these places, and you still can’t find a prize, take a breath and regroup—asking first-floor student employees for help would be wise.
Our heartfelt thanks to the Center for Student Involvement, the Center for Well-Being, the Bridge, Kay Spiritual Life Center, AUPD, AU Kitchen, the Residence Hall Association, and AU Library for providing prizes.
